Blessing In Disguise

We finally got word today that Rio didn't win the Milkbone contest. We did receive a pretty cool digital camera for finishing in the top 100. So now Amy can take another photo and we can enter another contest. I just wanted to say thanks to everybody for all of their votes and support during the contest. We had an awesome time during the contest and still can't believe all of the coverage that Rio got. Who would have thought I could have booked interviews with CBS, CLTV and the Southtown Star by myself. I think I might change careers and go into advertising or promotions. During the contest, we made some new friends in Iowa and Texas that helped us with the contest, so that was really cool.

If we did win, it would have been hard for us to do the 10 promotions with another baby on the way! We recently found out that Amy is pregnant and due in September. Our year will be busy with getting ready for the baby, getting Ramona's new room ready and Amy trying not to be nauseous. So I guess us not winning is a blessing in disguise, but the money would have been nice :)

We have no clue what is going on with the election. Hopefully we will find out soon. We will let you know if we hear anything. Maybe Blago was involved?

Rio's March To The Milkbone Box Has Come To An End. We are now waiting for the official results. Thanks for the votes and support.

Polls Close Today

The voting polls close today at 11:59pm Central Time tonight. We are trying to get close to 100% voter turn out today. I think we can get pretty close to it.

Amy and I really think that we have a good shot of winning this, especially with all of the publicity that we received and the support from our family and friends. A big thanks goes out to everyone that forwarded our emails/website on to family and friends. If you can forward this email one last time, for that last minute vote, we would appreciate it.

Coming To An End

We had a great time on NBC 5 this morning. We were happy that Rob Elgas mentioned Rio's website a couple of time.

Here is Rio's story for people that are new to the site.

Amy and I rescued a dog named Rio that we adopted from the Chicago Ridge Animal Welfare in Illinois. His original owners gave Rio up for adoption because they were going on vacation. Luckily for us they gave him up.

Rio is a finalist to be on the 100th Anniversary Milkbone box, but we need your help! Let's make a rescue dog the face of Milk bones.
